what is laloxo?

The name laloxo carries a bit of my story: “Lalo” was my despised childhood nickname, gifted to me by my little sister who couldn’t pronounce my full name. The nickname at the front of my brand is an ode to my inner child, while “xo” adds a kiss of femininity, a nod to the woman I’ve become. The combined “loxo” of “loxodontus” (the Latin word for African elephant) nods to my favorite animal, known for its memory, strength, and unexpected majesty. Like the name, my work attempts to blend softness and power, sentiment and structure.

the name

I originally enrolled at Miami University to study English, but somewhere between poetry and papers, I fell headfirst into game development. That spark led me to a career as a 3D Environment Artist, where I’ve spent years crafting immersive biomes and fantastical worlds, something I still do to this day.

laloxo began as a creative side project: I started out casting resin dice for tabletop games, just for fun. That curiosity evolved into hand-drawn battlemaps, then illustrations, and eventually jewelry, sculpture, and fine art. What began as a hobby grew into something much deeper, a body of work shaped by over a decade of exploring form, narrative, and craft.

and now

Today, laloxo includes gallery pieces, custom signage, and jewelry, each a reflection of that journey. It’s been an unexpected path, but one I’ve followed with a steady hand and an open heart.

Every piece I make is meant to spark something: wonder, recognition, maybe even reverence. Whether you’re a curator looking for thoughtful work or a shopper seeking something meaningful, I’m glad you’re here to share a peek into my world.
